Benjamin Jacob Ballarde

a new “About the Author”

Benjamin Jacob Ballard:

born of insouciance & intellect,

he was a man endowed by the muses with the virtue of inexorable vice.

he spoke of Life with a snarl & dreamt with a scowl.

smiling furrowed his brow, & his laugh rang with irony.

his jaw tensed reflexively at any mention of beauty.

the tautness of his cheekbones held captive a brooding disdain for living.

“Since ’tis Nature’s Law to Change,

Constancy alone is strange.”

–John Wilmot, Second Earl of Rochester

lacking purpose in life, i am fated to live in wonder at the world.  i am in a state of perpetual awe – consumed by terror and amazement.  what is this place?  and what the hell am i doing here?!

If you’re uncertain of your past – create it.

Make the myth.

My myth is that which ought not be forgot.

I am Benjamin Jacob Ballard, and I keep my past close to me.

We are who we’ve been…

…there is comfort in that thought.

Mnemosyne is your guide:

She knows all the muses by name.
